Communal window cleaning covers the shared glazing included in a building's management instruction. Monk Cleaning Services considers commercial requests across the North West for entrance screens, corridor windows, stairwell glass and other named common areas. Start by listing those spaces and distinguishing them from privately controlled rooms or units.

Name every shared area

A schedule might include the main lobby, rear entrance, lift-lobby windows, a connecting corridor and two staircases. Use the names already displayed in the building or familiar to the caretaker. Identify the included floors and whether each item is internal, external or both.

For an estate or development, name the blocks as well as the areas. Two entrances that look similar may have different access controls or window layouts. Include glazed doors, side panels and high-level glass explicitly, with balustrades or canopies listed separately if you want them assessed.

Keep the management boundary clear

Shared access does not mean every adjoining pane is part of the common-area contract. State whether external windows serving individual homes or offices are included, excluded or subject to a separate instruction. That distinction helps the managing agent, occupiers and cleaning team work from the same understanding.

Identify the person who can authorise access and the person who will coordinate the visit. They may be different people. Tell us about keys, entry systems, escorts and any occupier communication the management team needs to arrange. Do not include access codes in publicly visible documents or photographs.

Plan a repeatable common-area programme

Explain which areas are used most frequently and whether your initial frequency preference varies between them. Entrance doors may have a different presentation priority from a quieter upper corridor. A named schedule allows that distinction to be discussed without losing track of the whole building.

Show furniture, parcel storage, plants or other features close to the glass. Higher windows and stairwell positions need photographs of the surrounding space as well as the panes. The site assessment confirms the practical approach and the quotation defines the surfaces and areas included in the proposed arrangement.

Communal window-cleaning questions

Does this include general communal-area cleaning?

This request concerns glazing. Floors, furniture and other building surfaces are separate tasks and should not be assumed to be included. If frames or sills are required, identify them alongside the relevant windows.

Can a caretaker provide access?

A caretaker can be the nominated site contact where management has arranged that responsibility. Include their role, the areas they can access and any restrictions that still require approval from another party.

What happens when the building layout changes?

Update the area schedule and advise us about new partitions, furniture, entry controls or changed responsibilities. A clear current list helps keep repeat visits aligned with the building, rather than relying on an old description of its shared spaces.

Send the address, block or floor list and your preferred one-off or recurring arrangement to begin. Monk Cleaning Services can then discuss the information needed to assess the requested common-area glazing.
