What affects a commercial window cleaning quote?

Practical information to help you plan the work, prepare your enquiry and agree a clear commercial cleaning scope.

Request a quote

A commercial window cleaning price depends on the agreed work and the site, not just the number of windows. To get a useful quote, describe the building, which glass is included, how it can be approached and the frequency you are considering. Domestic online prices are not a price list for commercial premises.

The main parts of the quote

Information Why it matters
Glass and surfaces External windows, internal faces, doors and other glazing create different scopes.
Access and height Obstructions, upper elevations and the surrounding space affect the approach to the work.
Condition A routine clean differs from an initial clean or a request involving unusual residue.
Frequency A recurring programme needs an agreed interval and extent, distinct from one-off work.
Site arrangements Opening hours, inductions, escorts and access permissions need to be understood.

Why a photo is helpful but not always enough

A wide building photograph shows the glazing and some of the approach. It may not show a locked rear courtyard, an occupied room or restrictions on the land below the windows. Add a brief note about anything that is not visible, and identify each building if the site has more than one.

If the scope is straightforward, the team can establish what further information is needed from the enquiry. For more complex work, a site assessment may be required before the quotation is finalised. Sending photographs does not guarantee that an exact price can be given without further review.

Compare the same work

Before comparing two prices, check that both cover the same elevations, internal or external faces, frames and other specified surfaces. Confirm whether an initial visit has a separate scope, whether access arrangements are included, and what frequency is being proposed.

Ask how any taxes, additional tasks or separately arranged access costs are shown in the quotation. Do not assume that a low headline figure includes a surface or requirement that was never listed.

The shortest useful enquiry

Send the site postcode, the building type, the cleaning required and a contact. If you know them, add approximate storeys, preferred timing and any important access restriction. That is enough to start; you can provide more detail when the team identifies what is missing.

For several premises, list each address separately. A consistent brief gives you a clearer proposal and avoids treating buildings with different needs as identical units.
