Window cleaning for a retail park or shopping centre needs a clear division between individual shopfronts and shared areas. We quote commercial premises across the North West, with the glazing and access arrangements agreed for the parts you manage.

Define landlord and tenant responsibilities

A retailer may be responsible for its own display windows and entrance doors, while the managing agent commissions common-area glazing. Identify which arrangement applies. If several retailers are included in one enquiry, name the units and specify whether internal faces are also required.

Shared entrance screens, covered walkways, glazed canopies and high-level sections should be listed separately. They may require different assessment from a straightforward shopfront, even when they sit beside it.

Plan around people, displays and deliveries

Tell us the public opening hours, delivery access and any restrictions on work around entrances. A proposed early or late visit still needs agreement with the site contact. Make clear whether permission comes from the centre manager, landlord or individual retailer.

Internal display windows may be obstructed by stock, graphics or fixed fittings. Describe the space available and whether anything can be moved by the responsible occupier. Cleaning should not depend on an unspoken assumption that every display area will be clear on arrival.

Separate routine cleaning from specialist requests

Fingerprints and routine surface dirt are different from adhesive left after a promotion, paint marks or damaged film. Identify those requests when asking for the quote. The team needs to assess the finish and condition before confirming what can be included.

Signage, frames, cladding and fascias can be considered alongside the windows, but each surface should be named. A complete frontage brief makes the scope easier to agree than a general request to “clean the outside”.

Set priorities across the site

Customer entrances and display glazing may have different presentation priorities from rear service elevations. You can request separate frequencies or a phased scope, with the final programme agreed after review. For multi-site retailers, include each store address and local access contact rather than only the regional office details.

Start with the units or shared areas required, the postcode and the preferred timing. Photographs of a representative frontage and any unusual access can help the team identify the next questions.
