Use a current view of the frontage
Wigan Council's Leigh regeneration information includes Civic Square, connections around Market Street and King Street, and shopfront improvements. Where a premises or its surroundings is changing, the cleaning enquiry should show the present layout and any remaining work that affects access.
Photograph the entrance, the area below the glass and the route to rear windows. If signs, canopies or window frames have recently been replaced, include the changes. An old photograph can miss a new obstruction or suggest access that is no longer available.
Separate opening preparation from regular cleaning
After refurbishment, explain whether the request concerns ordinary soiling or marks from the project, such as labels, adhesive or paint. Provide close-up photographs of unusual residue and any glazing-care information. Those items need assessment rather than an assumption that they form part of a routine clean.
We review the site, surface condition and working positions before agreeing the method. If contractors still control part of the premises, identify who can release the area and what work must finish first. The cleaning sequence can then be discussed around a real handover point.
Plan the occupied premises
For a trading shop or office, describe delivery and preparation periods as well as public hours. Identify displays, furniture or blinds that affect internal glass. Agree who will clear access and name a local contact who understands the requested areas.
For ongoing cleaning, list the front, rear, upper and internal glazing separately. State the desired interval and which areas are most important to presentation. If a landlord controls common doors or upper floors, include that contact so the proposal reflects the whole requested building without confusing tenant responsibilities.
Leigh commercial window-cleaning questions
Can we enquire before a shopfront refurbishment finishes?
Yes. Send the planned scope, current photographs and the expected preparation stages. Identify unfinished work and the contact responsible for handing the area over so access can be considered accurately.
Can the initial clean and recurring programme be separated?
Yes. Describe the starting condition and then list the maintenance requirements. This makes the proposal clearer where the first clean involves different preparation from later visits.
What if public-space works change our access?
Give the current route and the person who can notify the team of changes. Updated photographs and practical instructions help keep the agreed work aligned with the premises as it is used.
