Monk Cleaning Services provides commercial window cleaning across the North West, including enquiries for shopfronts and entrance glass. A useful shopfront specification covers the glass customers see as they approach and the doors they pass through. Tell us whether you need the outside only or both sides, and whether the request is a one-off clean or an ongoing arrangement.

Describe the whole entrance

A shopfront can include a broad display window, narrower side panels, glazed doors and glass above the doorway. Those sections may look like a single frontage from the pavement but have different access needs. A photograph showing the full width of the unit helps establish what belongs in the quotation.

For a corner shop, identify each elevation. For a unit within a parade, make clear where your frontage ends and whether a landlord controls the common entrance. Frames, sills, signs, shutters and an overhead canopy should be listed individually if you want them considered; a glass-cleaning request does not describe those extra surfaces.

Fit the visit around trading

The practical starting point is your actual pattern of use. Explain when deliveries arrive, where customers queue and when the entrance is busiest. If display stands, outdoor tables or promotional boards occupy the space in front of the glass, say who can move them and when. A preferred time can then be assessed alongside the work involved.

Internal access deserves the same attention. Counters, stock and window displays can prevent someone reaching the inside face even when the outside is straightforward. Include any security sign-in, keyholder or shopping-centre arrangements in the enquiry so the proposal reflects how the premises operates.

Choose a scope you can review

Separate everyday soiling from adhesive, paint or marks left after a fit-out. Photographs of unusual marks help identify whether they need a separate assessment. Where a shopfront carries window film or applied lettering, supply the information you already hold about the finish and the area to be cleaned.

For regular cleaning, give an initial preference and explain your priorities: door glass, the main street-facing panes or the entire frontage. We can review the building and access before confirming the included surfaces and proposed arrangement. This gives the shop manager a clear reference if displays or opening patterns change later.

Shopfront cleaning questions

Can entrance doors be included?

Yes, include the door glass and adjoining panels in your request. State whether both faces are wanted and identify handles, frames or other fittings separately so the quotation is clear.

Can I request several shops together?

Send a list of addresses with a contact and frontage description for each. Different opening hours, landlord permissions and internal access should be recorded per shop rather than assumed to be identical.

What should I send first?

The postcode, full-frontage photographs, preferred frequency and trading constraints are enough to start a conversation. Add a note if the first visit involves unusually heavy soiling or a recent refurbishment.
